Detroit Lions vs Vikings: Which 2026 Game Are You Watching?
If you searched where to watch Detroit Lions vs Minnesota Vikings, there are two 2026 regular-season matchups to keep in mind.
The first takes place on Sunday, November 1, when Minnesota travels to Detroit for a Week 8 NFC North matchup. The game is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET on FOX at Ford Field.
The teams meet again in Week 15 on Sunday, December 20. This time, Detroit travels to Minnesota for a Sunday Night Football matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET, with the game airing on NBC and Peacock.
| Game | Date | Time | TV | Location |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vikings at Lions | Nov. 1, 2026 | 1:00 p.m. ET | FOX | Ford Field |
| Lions at Vikings | Dec. 20, 2026 | 8:20 p.m. ET | NBC / Peacock | U.S. Bank Stadium |
This distinction is important because searching for the teams without a date can lead to information about either matchup.
Where to Watch Lions vs Vikings on November 1
The first 2026 meeting is scheduled for Sunday, November 1, at 1:00 p.m. ET. Minnesota will visit Detroit at Ford Field for the Week 8 game. The official Vikings schedule lists FOX as the television network.
TV Channel and Kickoff Time
For viewers in the United States, the November 1 matchup is scheduled for:
- Date: Sunday, November 1, 2026
- Kickoff: 1:00 p.m. ET
- TV: FOX
- Stadium: Ford Field
- City: Detroit, Michigan
The same kickoff is 12:00 p.m. CT, which is the local time listed by the Vikings.
Because this is a Sunday afternoon FOX game, your local FOX availability can depend on the broadcast market.
Streaming Options
If you do not have traditional cable or satellite TV, FOX says its 2026 NFL coverage is available through FOX One, which streams FOX programming, including NFL games televised on FOX.
Another option depends on your location and subscription. NFL+ provides live local regular-season games on phones and tablets in the United States. NFL describes local games as those available on television in your local market.
For viewers looking for the game on a television rather than a phone or tablet, checking the FOX broadcast or an eligible FOX streaming service is especially important.
Where to Watch Lions vs Vikings on December 20
The second meeting has a different broadcast setup.
The Detroit Lions travel to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, December 20, 2026, for a Week 15 Sunday Night Football game. The scheduled kickoff is 8:20 p.m. ET, or 7:20 p.m. CT.
TV Channel and Kickoff Time
Here are the scheduled details:
- Date: Sunday, December 20, 2026
- Kickoff: 8:20 p.m. ET
- TV: NBC
- Streaming: Peacock
- Stadium: U.S. Bank Stadium
- City: Minneapolis, Minnesota
The NFL’s Sunday Night Football schedule lists the game on NBC, with Sunday Night Football also available on Peacock.
Streaming Options
Peacock is the most direct streaming option for this Sunday Night Football matchup. Peacock states that its service carries every NFL game airing on NBC during the 2026–27 season, including Sunday Night Football.
This makes the December matchup different from the November game. The November game is a FOX Sunday afternoon broadcast, while the December meeting is an NBC Sunday Night Football broadcast.
NFL+ is another option for eligible local and primetime regular-season games, but live local and primetime games through NFL+ are limited to phones and tablets.
Lions vs Vikings TV and Streaming Guide
The easiest way to identify the correct viewing option is to match the date with the network.
| Date | Matchup | Kickoff | TV | Streaming |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nov. 1, 2026 | Vikings at Lions | 1:00 p.m. ET | FOX | FOX One and eligible NFL+ access |
| Dec. 20, 2026 | Lions at Vikings | 8:20 p.m. ET | NBC | Peacock and eligible NFL+ access |
FOX’s 2026 NFL viewing guide identifies FOX and FOX One as options for Sunday afternoon NFL coverage, while NBC’s Sunday Night Football games are available on NBC and Peacock.
One useful point for cord-cutters is that NFL+ is not the same as an out-of-market Sunday afternoon TV package. NFL says NFL+ provides local and primetime regular-season games on mobile devices, while out-of-market Sunday afternoon games are handled separately.
Where Are the Lions vs Vikings Games Being Played?
The two teams switch home fields during the 2026 season.
The November 1 matchup is at Ford Field in Detroit. Minnesota is the visiting team for that game.
The December 20 matchup is at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, with Detroit traveling to Minnesota.
That home-and-away setup gives each NFC North team one home game in the regular-season series.
The Vikings’ official information also notes that Minnesota won the most recent meeting in Detroit, defeating the Lions 27–24 at Ford Field on November 2, 2025.
Can You Watch Lions vs Vikings With NFL+?
Yes, but the exact access depends on which game you are watching and where you are located.
NFL+ provides live local and primetime regular-season games on phones and tablets in the United States. It also includes live game audio for every game.
For the November 1 FOX game, NFL+ access can apply if the game is considered a local broadcast in your market. For the December 20 Sunday Night Football game, NFL+ includes eligible primetime coverage on supported mobile devices.
There is an important device limitation: NFL states that live local and primetime regular-season games through NFL+ are available only on phones and tablets and cannot be cast to a television during those live events.
So, if your goal is to watch on a big-screen TV, the broadcast network or its associated streaming service may be the more relevant option.
